Get Ready for Healthy Dipping on Valentine’s Day
It’s almost Valentine’s so here are some healthy ways to keep your new year’s resolution diet while enjoying a romantic time with your loved one.
Everybody knows (and they should since I’ve mentioned this before) that strawberries are just 2 cal for a small fruit or about 50 cal a cup. As such, the strawberry is considered one of the best additions in a low calorie diet. And it is eaten a lot on Valentine’s too.
Peak season for strawberries is late spring through early summer. They are now, however, sold year-round in many food markets. The Romans prized wild strawberries for their medicinal properties. Ounce for ounce, strawberries have actually more Vitamin C than citrus fruits and according to the American Cancer Society, foods rich in Vitamin C may lower the risk of cancers of the gastrointestinal tract.
Now that we know this, let me describe some healthy ways to dip them. For a light and healthy start, you can dip them in a mix of yogurt, granola or cereal with dried fruit. That’s always a tasty combination. For the more traditional Valentine’s observer, try a dip of melted dark chocolate with mixed nuts. Seductive with the hit of crunch! For a complete list of 10 healthy dips including one high in protein, shoot me an email. Hope you guys enjoy this and have a great Valentine’s
