The Pomegranate

Hey guys

Do you think of it as a fruit you would buy or is it something that you have forgotten about? Here are some facts about this great fruit which chefs around the world are incorporating into their gastronomical creations.

Today, the pomegranate is being touted as a miracle drug for a range of ailments such as aging, Alzhemir’s, cancer, heart disease and arthritis. It’s even said to protect unborn babies from brain injuries. In essence, it seems to be a cure for about anything that can afflict an aging senior citizen.

It has also become popular as an ingredient for mixed drinks, ice-cream and bottled water. A popular decoration for the table, President Bush even brought it up in his meeting in May with Afghanistan President Karzai. He suggested they grow pomegranate trees instead of poppies. Another honor came when the Centers for Disease Control named it Fruit of the Month.

Then there’s POM Wonderful which describes itself as “The Antioxidant Superpower” and has squeezed the juice out of the pomegranate and squirted it into about everything. I actually found a recipe for pomegranate martini!

I’ve therefore decided to come up with a very healthy recipe just for you guys. So stay tuned!

Thanks you again and God bless you.
